Hi! I’m Ashley Jean Sebastian, a 4th year BSIT student with a great passion for UI/UX design, currently interning at Outsoar Ph.
Stepping into Outsoar Ph, a web and app development company based in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, for the first time was both thrilling and terrifying. The nerves were real, the excitement was real, and so was the uncertainty. But looking back now, I can say with full confidence that interning at Outsoar Ph is hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my entire college life.
Experience Walking into Outsoar Ph for the first time was both thrilling and intimidating. The company has a warm and welcoming culture, they treat their interns not just as students, but as part of the team. The environment pushed me to grow, collaborate, and step out of my comfort zone every single day. One of the highlights of my experience was being trusted to handle an actual client and manage their website, something I never imagined I’d be doing as a student intern.
My internship at Outsoar PH didn’t just add skills to my resume, it shaped me into a more confident, capable, and passionate designer. I came in nervous, unsure of myself, and unfamiliar with many tools. But I leave with knowledge, experience, real-world exposure, and memories I’ll carry with me for the rest of my career.
And to top it all off, we were invited to attend Build with AI 2026 in Baguio — and we even got the chance to join a mini hackathon challenge! I built a Flappy Bird with a twist using AI Studio, and honestly that experience alone taught me so much about what I’m capable of when I just go for it. To future interns, say yes to every opportunity — you never know where it’ll take you.
Projects During my internship, I worked on real web design and development projects. My main focus was on UI/UX design, which is my passion, but I also got hands-on experience building websites using WordPress and Elementor, tools I had never used before. At first, it was overwhelming since I was used to design tools, but with practice and support from the team, I can now confidently say I’m halfway there!
Learnings This internship taught me more than any classroom ever could. I learned how to use WordPress and Elementor from scratch, how to communicate with clients professionally, and how to present and defend my design decisions. Most importantly, I learned that stepping into something unfamiliar is not something to fear, it’s something to embrace.
